Uglich, Russia

Uglich, Russia Uglich, Yaroslavl district center field. Located on the banks of the Volga River some 110 kilometers west of Yaroslavl, just at the point where it makes a sharp bend, which was once called "Ugilets" or "Uglich". Maybe that's why the town has a name. According to another version, in this place in antiquity burned coal. The city is included in the "Golden Ring".
