1 Rand (R) = 100 cents. Exchange rate: U.S. $ 1 equals about 6 rand.

The exchange of foreign currencies can be made in airports, train stations, hotels and numerous bank branches. In hotels exchange money on unprofitable, as the course is usually somewhat inflated, and charged fee (approximately 1%). Necessary to keep receipts of currency exchange for the inverse conversion when leaving the country.

All major shops, hotels and restaurants, accepts major credit cards. In the calculations at the gas stations are only used cash. Traveler's checks can be cashed at banks and tourist offices (the commission about 1%).
